Housing

Norfolk is competitively priced when it comes to housing. At an average price of £171,000 it is some £125,000 less than the Cambridge average house price, and less than half the cost of an average house in Greater London.

Most of the county has significant new housing development taking place with a number of hotspots in the south of the county along the A11 corridor and Diss. Norwich has several major housing allocations, so there will be plenty of choice for those wishing to live and work in the main urban centre. Likewise, the towns of Gt. Yarmouth and King's Lynn offer a wide choice of housing in a range of settings, some offering superb value.

Many people choose Norfolk to enjoy the beautiful rural environment. There is a wide variety of period and newer housing - some individual and some estate - on the 80 miles of Norfolk's coastline, the mysterious marshlands, broads river valleys or the central Norfolk area which provides a wealth of subtly different landscape, heritage and local people.
